For many years at Gateway we have offered value added services to our customers based on their drawings and requirements, but recently, as the skills and size of our technical team have grown we been able to get involved in assisting customers with redesigns or finding bespoke solutions to real world problems.
The UK left the EU on 31st January 2020, and on 1st February 2020 it entered the transition period that will end on 31st December 2020. From 1st January 2021 there will be new rules that govern life outside of the EU that will apply to, amongst other things, citizenship, travel and business activity.
The internet was starting to show its world changing potential. Money didn't appear as just coins, notes and, cheques.
In 2017 Gateway opened the doors to apprentices. Marketing, IT and Engineering staff welcomed young professionals into their teams to learn and grow in the workplace.
So where were we 20years ago? We had just “survived” the millennium bug without planes falling out of the sky. Big Brother aired for the first time, Kylie was making her comeback with “Spinning around” and Sir Steve Redgrave won his 5th gold Olympic medal; and in a warehouse on the outskirts of Crewe, a small team started trading as Gateway Electronic components Ltd for the first time.
COVID-19 has seen businesses across the country face extraordinary challenges, most of all our wonderful NHS. Gateway Electronic Components has stepped up their additive manufacturing capacity by 500% to produce face shields for the NHS.
