CNC Programmer/Operator to join our CanDo Team!

Gateway Electronic Components seeks a motivated and talented CNC programmer to join the CanDo team. The Gateway Machine Shop specializes in machining ferrite material, this material is difficult to machine and presents many challenges. The machine shop is the only dedicated machine shop within the UK with the ability to machine custom geometries from blocks of ferrite material, it has positioned itself as a market leader and supports some of the largest companies in the world on new and emerging technologies.

The successful candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience programming CNC machinery in an Autodesk software package, preferably Fusion360, Inventor or Powermill.

The role requires a motivated individual who wishes to lead a small team to meet tight deadlines and work around a very tight schedule.

 

Job Details:

Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

Working Hours: 09:00 to 17:00, Mon to Fri.

20 Days Holiday + Public Holidays

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Ability to produce and verify CNC Milling programs from engineering drawings

To program, set, and operate 3-axis machine tools

Ability to work with very small and precise products

Producing small size batches, one-offs and special-purpose work

Working to identified tolerances on drawings

Working within a team to produce machined projects

Leading the day to operation of the machine shop to ensure all deadlines are hit including quotations, sales and delivery targets.

Working on a range of CNC Machines

Ability to troubleshoot and fix machinery issues

Ability to work effectively in an often busy environment

Ability to manage and prioritise workload, and meet

Good communication and teamwork skills

Hard-working and reliable

 

Skills & Experience:

CNC machining: At least 2 years experience (preferred)

Experience within an engineering/manufacturing environment

Experience using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software

Reading engineering drawings

A logical approach to problem-solving

Experience in use of HAAS CNC Machine

Experience in use of Renishaw probing systems

Experience in use of Fusion360 CAM (preferred)

Experience in use of CAD/CAM software

Experience in ceramics industry - Desired but not essential

The successful candidate must hold a valid Visa or a right eligible to work in the U.K.
