Introducing Fair-Rite’s Flexible Ferrite Sheets: High-Performance EMI Suppression, Now Available from Gateway
Electromagnetic interference (EMI) is the silent threat behind many design headaches. It sneaks into wireless systems, disrupts sensitive circuits, and pushes products out of compliance. Fair-Rite’s new Flexible Ferrite Sheets offer a clean, adaptable solution, combining proven soft magnetic performance with a form factor that bends to your design.
Gateway is proud to partner with Fair-Rite to bring this new line to our customers, giving engineers a smarter way to manage noise, enhance signal integrity, and protect performance in compact electronic systems.

A Smarter Take on Ferrite Technology
Traditional ferrite plates are effective, but they’re rigid and fragile. They demand careful handling and often limit how and where they can be applied. Fair-Rite’s flexible ferrite sheets change that.
Made from nickel-zinc (NiZn) ferrite, these sheets provide high-volume resistivity and broadband insertion loss, all while maintaining flexibility thanks to a PET film backing and peel-and-stick adhesive. They conform easily to curved or uneven surfaces, making integration simple, even in tight assemblies.
Each sheet is RoHS compliant, scored on a 2 mm x 2 mm grid, and available in four standard thicknesses, down to just 0.13 mm total. The operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and thermal conductivity of 6 W/m°C ensure stable performance across demanding environments.
Tailored Materials for Every Frequency Range
Fair-Rite offers six material grades (M1–M6), each engineered for specific frequency ranges and applications:
| Material | Key Range / Use Case | Typical µ’ (1 MHz) | Notable Feature |
| M1 | 50–200 MHz | 20 | Low loss above 200 MHz |
| M2 | 50–200 MHz | 45 | Effective shielding with low loss |
| M3 | 15–50 MHz | 60 | Stable performance across mid-band frequencies |
| M4 | 13.56 MHz (NFC / A4WP) | 120 | Optimal µ’ and µ’’ for wireless power |
| M5 | 13.56 MHz (NFC / A4WP) | 140 | Best temperature coefficient |
| M6 | Below 50 MHz | 220 | Maximum attenuation up to 50 MHz |
Across configurations, shielding effectiveness reaches up to 18.5 dB at 1 MHz, maintaining solid performance into the GHz range.
Designed for Modern Electronics
These flexible sheets unlock new possibilities in electromagnetic design. Engineers can now integrate magnetic shielding and suppression layers where rigid materials once failed to fit. Common use cases include:

- Wireless power charging stations
- RFID and NFC antenna backings
- PCB and IC component shielding
- Switch-mode power supplies
- Compact consumer and IoT devices
Easy handling and fast application make them ideal for both production environments and rapid prototyping. Peel, place, and your design is ready for EMI testing.
