Join Us as a Machining Apprentice
About Us
We are a globally recognised leader in the machining of ferrite materials, supporting customers across industries including power electronics, aerospace, and advanced engineering. Our Ferrite Machine Shop combines precision CNC machining with specialist expertise to deliver high-performance components to customers worldwide.

The Role
We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Apprentice to join our Ferrite Machine Shop. This is an exciting opportunity to develop practical engineering skills while working with a unique and highly specialised material that few companies worldwide can machine to our standard.
You will gain experience across CNC machining, inspection, and manufacturing processes, working alongside experienced engineers in a fast-paced and supportive environment.
This role forms part of a structured development program, and the successful candidate will be required to enrol on and successfully complete a Level 3 Engineering/Manufacturing Apprenticeship alongside their on-the-job training.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Learning to operate CNC milling machines (including setup and basic programming)
- Assisting in the machining of ferrite components to tight tolerances
- Supporting finishing processes to achieve high-quality surface finishes
- Using inspection equipment to check parts meet specifications
- Understanding engineering drawings and technical requirements
- Assisting with machine maintenance and workshop organisation
- Following health & safety procedures at all times
- Gradually taking on more responsibility as your skills develop
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong interest in engineering, manufacturing, or how things are made
- Practical mindset and willingness to learn hands-on skills
- Good attention to detail and quality-focused approach
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- GCSEs (or equivalent), ideally including Maths and English
- Any exposure to engineering, machining, or CAD/CAM is a bonus (not essential)
What You’ll Gain
- Full training in CNC machining and precision manufacturing
- Experience working with advanced engineering materials
- Mentorship from highly skilled machinists and engineers
- Opportunity to develop into a fully skilled CNC machinist or manufacturing engineer
- A career path within a growing, specialist area of engineering
Why Join Us
This is not a standard machining role. You’ll be working in a highly specialised field where precision, problem-solving, and innovation are key. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to components used in cutting-edge applications while building a long-term engineering career.
